Responsibilities:

Senior Architect
The Technology Architecture Team designs and manages the technology infrastructure and solutions that allow the Technology Service Division to achieve its operational goals.
The senior architect will help to ensure that the technology solutions and services are secure, high-quality, reliable, and scalable, and that they fit the business needs of the customers.
The senior architect will work with the division’s stakeholders to understand their requirements and create technology solutions that meet business needs.

Responsibilities of the EL1 may include:

  • Working closely with information technology and development teams within the department to ensure proposed solutions are fit for purpose and meet security requirements.
  • Input into and review any design or architectural components including contributing to decision papers.

Senior Cloud Engineer
Reporting to the Hosting Team lead, the Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for maintaining the majority of the departments virtual servers in both internal and external environments.

Responsibilities of the EL1 may include:

  • Maintaining AWS and VMWare based cloud servers.
  • Troubleshooting failures
  • Applying patches and upgrades
  • Identifying opportunities for optimisation

Senior Network Engineer
The Network Team, Technology Operations within the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations are seeking to engage a highly motivated and enthusiastic Network Engineer with demonstrated experience in a broad range of networking technologies such Cisco, F5 and FortiGate.

Responsibilities of the EL1 may include:

  • Troubleshooting and managing various network devices and services such as switches, routers, firewall and in particular F5 Load Balancers/application delivery.
  • Performing a broad range of activities associated with the management and support of network services across the departments Datacentre, LAN, WAN and Wireless networks.

Windows Server Engineer
The integral role of the Platform Services Team is to support and maintain the windows server platform, by means of adopting guidelines provided by Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) implementing the Information Security Manual (ISM) produces and controls. The systems utilised to achieve this, but not limited to are: Active Directory, DNS, Server Group Policy, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), F5 and Server Platform Standardisation.

Responsibilities of the EL1 may include:

  • Mitigate vulnerabilities and exploits raised via Tenable reports.
  • Supporting the MECM infrastructure and associated third party applications utilised to administer the patching of server applications.

Senior Financial Operations Officer
The NPP Projects – Azure Services team, Infrastructure and Platforms Branch of the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) is seeking a Cloudability specialist to provide Apptio Cloudability solutions to optimise cloud resources for cost and quality.
This Executive level role will be required to optimise IT budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to assist with cost savings for the department to enable IT, Finance and Business teams to work together to optimise cloud resources to improve application quality and reduce development and ongoing support costs to the department.

Responsibilities of the EL1 may include:

  • Providing advice on FinOps and how it can be applied to improve Cloud cost management in Azure and AWS environments.
  • Providing advice on the use of the Cloudability application including ingestion of data, development of dashboards and report analysis.
