Description:

The NHS Counter Fraud Authority (NHSCFA) is the national body responsible for all matters relating to the prevention, detection and investigation of economic crime across the NHS. Further information about our work and annual plan for delivering this is available on our website.
We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to provide support maintaining our cloud and on-premise infrastructures. They will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security and scalability of our systems to support business operations. The post holder will provide specialist expertise and advice to team members and the wider business. They will assist with the implementation of new software, hardware and infrastructure projects, including leading on the enhancement and optimisation of functionality within our cloud environments (predominantly Azure).

The post holder will be responsible for managing a range of ICT Infrastructure and data networks provided by both internal and external service providers to support the NHSCFA ICT Strategy, including the implementation, management, and on-going support. The role holder will use specialist technical and business knowledge and co-ordination skills to manage the day-to-day operational activities and relationship between the ICT function and business areas, ensuring a unified approach covering the full lifecycle of service delivery from the initial service design to service decommission.
We have offices based in Coventry, Newcastle and London and offer flexible, hybrid, office and home-based working. In addition to the advertised salary working in the London area will attract High-Cost Area Supplement where appropriate. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will support the Infrastructure Manager to deliver innovative ICT projects, support, and develop the provision of current ICT Microsoft Azure Public Cloud Infrastructure, Data Storage, Network configuration, Systems, Teams Phone System and Application Platforms while delivering excellent customer service and system availability in line with Service Level Agreements, while conforming to ISO20000 practices / ITIL processes and other relevant service delivery frameworks.
Working with key suppliers, support the configuration and ongoing management of the NHSCFA infrastructure / network environment, including design and run cost optimisation.
Translate business requirements for IT services into technical deliverables within the infrastructure / network environment. This will require a thorough understanding of industry trends and opportunities.
