EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

We would like you to have experience with most of the following. However, if certain skills are not met through previous work and you have a desire to learn we are happy to consider your application.

  • Windows Infrastructure Services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group policy, WSUS)
  • Cloud technologies – Microsoft Azure, M365, Intune & AWS
  • Exchange online Microsoft 365 administration and configuration
  • VMware vSphere administration and configuration
  • Technical expertise and proven experience across virtualisation, storage, server, and network technologies.
  • Backup, DR and High Availability tools planning and implementation – Veeam
  • Linux administration and configuration
  • Configuration and administration of switches, routers, firewalls
  • Infrastructure Monitoring tools
  • Previous experience of working in a DevOps Environment
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting & problems solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer facing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills including strong verbal and written skills & the ability to interact with colleagues at all levels.
  • Elevated sense of ownership and the ability to self-organize.
  • The ability to work under pressure, manage their own workload, and work as part of a small team.
  • Self-motivation and an eagerness to take on new challenges.
  • Experience of working in an ISO27001 / IOS 9001 environment and using ITIL and Agile working practices

Responsibilities:

This is a dedicated Systems Engineering & Operations role focused on supporting core business functions. You will be expected to work in a fast-moving environment, across multiple projects and as part of multi-disciplinary teams in North America and the UK. You will contribute significantly to the design and support of the SGS Technology Infrastructure.
You will work closely with internal clients to design, build and support the systems required to support the SGS mission. This role will have a primary focus on supporting our SGS internal teams and our quality management systems. You will be expected to operate with autonomy, taking full ownership of Technology Infrastructure Build, Configuration and Support, as part of a high functioning and accomplished team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, implementation and maintenance of the infrastructure required to support organizational initiatives and daily operations.
  • Manage relationships with third party suppliers, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation.
  • Follow, maintain and develop infrastructure governance responsibilities.
  • Manage and support the tooling used by SGS internal teams.
  • Provide technical support to a wide range of end users
  • Research third party products and services.
  • Assist the IT Manager in establishing security best practices.
  • Collaborate with the DevOps engineers to increase efficiencies across the organization’s software development processes.
  • Generating written and verbal reports for senior management
