The Role
As an Infrastructure & Security Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering both consultancy and managed services to a diverse range of customers. Your role will involve implementing and managing a range of Microsoft services including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, the Microsoft Defender suite, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft Azure solutions. Additionally, you will lead the internal IT team and act as the escalation point for the IT Support Analyst, ensuring smooth operations and optimal security for our IT estate.
You will provide expert guidance on IT strategy, security, and infrastructure improvements, ensuring that our customers’ needs are met with the highest standards of service. Excellent stakeholder management skills are essential as you will be interacting with a broad spectrum of customers and internal team members, including direct interactions with senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver consultancy and managed services across a range of technologies including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Microsoft Defender suite and Microsoft Purview.
  • Taking part in the on-call rota, supporting our managed service customers.
  • Leading in IT infrastructure projects and owning any other IT activities as required
  • Handling technical queries and issues via a ticketing system, ensuring all actions are logged and resolved promptly.
  • Building and maintaining office and remote networking, including VPNs
  • Coaching and mentoring of IT Support Technician, acting as point of escalation as required
  • Deployment and maintenance of internal systems including AD, Entra ID, Office 365, Teams and telephony, local and Azure virtual servers, backup hardware and software, and security and peripheral devices
  • Applying patches and security updates to systems where appropriate to minimise risk and maintain supportability.
  • Overseeing inventories and asset registers
  • Security monitoring of all internal systems and infrastructure
  • Developing and maintaining internal policies, procedures, standards, baselines and guidelines where applicable.
  • Acting as key point of contact regarding internal systems ensuring hardware and software are secure, robust and fit-for-purpose
