Responsibilities:
- Primarily your role will be to carry out new multi cavity mould tool validations following Xerotech’s Injection mould validation processes and function testing.
- Support our R&D and Engineering departments polymer selections for testing, processing, and development of new polymers to support current and future NPI projects.
- Manage the day-to-day planning and scheduling of the injection mould department working closely with Xerotech’s production planning and procurement teams.
- Support the Tooling and Moulding Manager to identify and procure new moulding machines and automation equipment and identify areas where OEE’s can be improved.
- Work closely with the Tooling Team taking part in the tooling design reviews as part of the DFM process providing input from a mould processing point of view.
- Review and approve component drawings to ensure the part can achieve the specifications noted on the drawings.
- Create and control of all the mould validation and quality documentation.
- Create and maintain the injection moulding Standard Procure documentation.
- Ensure the quality of all the moulded components always meets the Quality criteria. React quickly to resolve quality issues raised during production runs.
- Troubleshoot all injection moulding technical issues, finding robust solutions.
- Upkeep of mould tool records ensuring all tooling activities are recorded accurately.
- Working closely with our toolmakers to ensure smooth running of all mould tools is maintained, from start up, during and shut down, reporting any issues which have been noted.
- Manage and control effective solutions for material handling safety in confined and restricted areas, working closely with Xerotech’s warehouse to ensure material supplies are effectively always maintained through “Just in Time” process.
- Monitor and support the junior members of the team.
- Ensure Xerotech’s Health and safety policies are always enforced, reporting any concerns of risk to health and care to Xerotech’s Health and Safety Manager.
- Ensure housekeeping within the department is always maintained to high standard incorporating the 5S tools.
- Mentor and support the learnings of junior Moulding Engineers.
- Manage all the Injection moulding spares and take ownership of the storage.
