Description:

Overview:
As an Inside Sales Representative, you will be in an inside tele-sales function targeting prospective customers within the TDS footprint to sell TDS products and services to business customers as well as schedule appointments for the TDS sales force. This typically involves cold calling new business clients. Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts, soliciting new accounts, and preparing quotes. You will create and maintain the prospect database which will outline key contacts, competitive contract terms, and other necessary data. The data will be used to design both present and future contact strategies, sales follow up to grow market share, as well as provide recommendations for follow up on strategic accounts to sales management. The ISR will maintain product knowledge for all business units (wireline and cable) and prospect in all markets.
This position has the ability to work remotely in any of the 40+ States in which TDS Telecom operates.
The salary listed for this position is encompassing of both the base salary, as well as what one might expect to earn when meeting established sales quotas. The actual offer amount will carefully consider multiple factors, such as relevant skills, qualifications, work experience, location and/or competencies that align with the specified role. Responsibilities:

  • Meet or exceed monthly sales growth goals for products and services. Make regular contact with prospective small business customers. Place proactive contact calls to uncover sales opportunities. Serve as the resource for sales negotiation with small business accounts. Craft sales proposals, contracts, and process orders.
  • Contact prospective customers through a combination of telephone, e-mail, and direct mail contact to obtain appointments for sales representatives.
  • Maintain and continually update a database of prospects that identifies the business or organization, contact person and title, current provider of services, and dates their contracts expire.
  • Undertake initiative for developing vertical markets in the sales markets (e.g. franchise owners of car care, repair, beauty care, etc.) This is conducted in conjunction and in cooperation with the Marketing department.
  • Work on Marketing initiatives for development of vertical markets.
  • Work with new hires to train prospecting techniques.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years sales and appointment setting.
  • 6+ months proven track record working with executives/decision makers via the telephone.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of telecommunication products and services.
  • Software experience and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to review prospecting files for clues indicating opportunity to recover older leads and/or strategic leads.
  • Effective business writing skills for correspondence with directors and decision makers.
  • History of work experience that demonstrates attention to detail skills and general business acumen.
