Description:

INSPECTOR (PRC/AEROSPACE)

The Inspector is under the general direction from the Center Manager, and independently executes activities associated with all incoming and outgoing related processes including part time evaluation of specimens with laboratory equipment.
This is considered a junior level position but requires some previous working experience (3+yrs). Relevant education would be considered an asset, but not required.
Working hours Mon-Fri, day shift, 40-hour work week. This position may require occasional weekend coverage and/or overtime. Approx job description breakdown; 50% data entry/emails/shipping/receiving- 25% visual inspection- 25% lab work.

Responsibilities:

  • Contract review, clear communication (written & verbal), customer emails.
  • Packing & shipping, unpacking/order receiving/order entry. Data entry, visual inspection
  • Preparation and evaluation of coated specimens, including, adhesion testing, hardness testing, surface, microstructure and thickness testing via XRF and / or calo wear scar.
  • Support quality with the compliance with internal system requirements, ISO9001, NADCAP, AS9100 and customer requirements.
  • Understanding of part defects, pass/fail inspections.
  • Collect, collate and report in verbal or written form data as required
  • Perform general maintenance of lab areas and equipment as required
  • Maintain a high level of good housekeeping in accordance with 5S standards
  • Safe use of equipment within the lab. Follow procedures & work instructions.
