Peak Ocean is looking for candidates with relevant experience in a CAD design environment in offshore industry.

OVERALL PURPOSE:

To work alongside the Installation Engineering team to prepare sketches to illustrate procedural steps, equipment/deck layouts and outline designs for further detailing by others.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares basic, but varied CAD detailed and assembly drawings from layouts, sketches, mark-up prints and other reference materials under the direction of Engineers and experienced Designers using prevailing engineering design procedures, standards and codes.
• Creates preliminary drawings with complete dimensional data for engineering or fabrication purposes and reviews for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to drafting, applicable design, component weights and system standards.
• Learns to draw plan, elevation and various views, sections and details of part/structures and prepare detailed drawings for sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
• Prepares intermediate level sales or sequence drawings and Engineering Change Notices according to procedure as directed.
• Learns to calculate dimensional tolerance requirements to ensure proper assembly fit according to design requirements defined by the Engineers.
• Learns to prepare CAD assembly drawings to verify adequate assembly fit and function.
• Performs administrative duties and design-related tasks such as transferring drawings from computer to hardcopy as assigned.

• 1 to 4 years relevant experience in a CAD design environment. Experience with Auto CAD 2004. Knowledge of standard drafting techniques applicable to offshore industry.
• AutoCAD for 2D drawing and preferrable to be familiar in working in 3D space, e.g. UNITY, to be capable of building vessels, cranes, subsea structures in 3D model space.
