Responsibilities:

The Instructional Designer will play a crucial role in developing and implementing effective training programs and supporting documentation to enhance employee skills and knowledge. Reporting to the VP of Process and Quality Assurance, the Instructional Designer will collaborate closely with the HR team and other stakeholders to manage the instructional design process from concept to delivery. This role requires a deep understanding of instructional design principles, strong project management skills, and the ability to create engaging and effective learning materials.

Needs Analysis:

  • Regularly assess skills gaps and training needs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop modular, customizable training units using a blended learning approach.
  • Utilize iterative processes for material refinement and leverage technology for efficient delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify training needs, define learning objectives, design curriculum, create engaging materials, and implement feedback mechanisms.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to understand goals, challenges, and expectations for employee performance.
  • Gather input on specific skills, knowledge gaps, and performance issues.
  • Collaborate closely with SMEs to gain insights into technical and operational aspects.
  • Extract critical tasks, processes, and procedures.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of job tasks and responsibilities.
  • Prioritize content based on frequency and criticality of tasks.
  • Identify disparities between current and desired employee knowledge and skills.
  • Document gaps to inform targeted training solutions.
  • Collaboratively define clear, measurable learning objectives aligned with organizational goals

Curriculum Design:

  • Identify and prioritize topics based on learning objectives.
  • Select appropriate methods (e.g., videos, discussions, e-learning modules).
  • Develop interactive activities that promote active participation.
  • Design assessments to measure achievement of learning objectives.
  • Use technology to enhance training content diversity and accessibility.

Content Development:

  • Create detailed storyboards outlining structure, flow, and visual elements.
  • Develop clear, concise textual content aligned with learning objectives.
  • Incorporate graphics, images, audio, and video to enhance engagement.
  • Edit and optimize training videos, ensuring alignment with VIMEO best practices.

E-learning Authoring Tools:

  • Utilize tools for digital content creation compatible with LMS.

Learning Management System (LMS) Management:

  • Act as the SME for the organization’s LMS.
  • Manage user access, permissions, and content organization.
  • Ensure LMS is updated with the latest training modules and resources.
  • Monitor learner progress, track completions, and generate reports.
  • Provide training and support on LMS usage and best practices.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement:

  • Develop QA processes to ensure learning materials’ accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness.
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations of training content against instructional design principles and organizational standards.
  • Gather feedback for continuous improvement of training materials.
