DESCRIPTION

Zayed University’s College of Interdisciplinary Studies invites applications for Arabic Language Instructors within the General Education Programme. We seek candidates who can teach novice to advanced levels for non-native speakers and Arabic communication skills labs for native Arabic speakers. There are multiple positions available across both the Abu Dhabi and Dubai campuses. The expected start date is August 2024.

QUALIFICATIONS

As a faculty member, you will provide practical hands-on instruction in an engaging learning environment, incorporating innovative teaching methodologies to enhance our student’s learning experience and achieve learning outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in TAFL, Arabic Language and Literature, Second language acquisition, or Applied Linguistics.
  • Experience teaching Modern Standard Arabic at the university level and developing pedagogical materials, and incorporating active learning pedagogy into the curriculum.
  • Experience in teaching university-level non-native learners. Consideration will be given to faculty who have experience in international or bilingual environments.
  • Training in ACTFL or CEFR proficiency guidelines and experience in foreign language proficiency-based instruction, preferably with a rater or tester certification.
  • Knowledge of current teaching methodologies and practices ”Active learning” in the classroom and experience utilizing advanced classroom technologies.
