Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor this position aims to ensure the plant operates smoothly by installing, maintaining, and calibrating instruments used in mining processes. This guarantees accurate measurement of variables crucial for controlling and optimising operations to meet Availability and Reliability targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical assistance in all aspects of instrumentation installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for the plant’s operational technology systems, process instrumentation, and final control devices.
  • Perform service, maintenance, and installation tasks on a broad range of technical and process equipment, including process instrumentation and final control devices.
  • Conduct calibration and verification activities for process instrumentation and final control devices to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
  • Use advanced problem-solving skills to diagnose issues in both analogue and digital control systems, process instrumentation, and final control elements, utilising P&IDs, functional specifications, and process flow diagrams.
  • Respond to breakdowns promptly, diagnose problems in process instrumentation, final control elements, and control systems, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Participate in breakdown analysis and root cause analysis processes to identify underlying issues and implement preventive measures to enhance equipment reliability.
