This position would be well suited to an individual with significant existing instrument commissioning experience in the UK oil and gas industry. Candidates will be expected to have valid offshore certification as well as relent qualifications to perform this position.
Qualifications -
- HND or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical or Instrument or extensive proven experience
- Site experience in commissioning procedure and certification (e.g. GOC)
- Sound commissioning experience both site based and in planning activities

Responsibilities:
PD&MS Group have a great opportunity for a Instrument Commissioning Engineer to join our progressive construction team on a full time, short- term basis.
The Instrument Commissioning Engineer is responsible for carrying out all commissioning activities, ensuring that all systems are installed in accordance with the approved project designs and specifications and that workscopes are carried out on time. The Commissioning Engineer will work under ICSS as commissioning authority. This role is required for water injection pump commissioning activities.
As the Instrument Commissioning Engineer you will -
- Carry out day to day on-site commissioning activities for assigned projects
- Produce project reports and Commissioning Completion Reports on assigned projects
- Ensure Commissioning is carried out safely in accordance with regulations and procedures
- Ensure all necessary Commissioning documentation is produced in a timely manner and co-operate with Technical Documentation teams to ensure timely delivery of O & M manuals
- Obtain buy-in to proposed commissioning plan revisions
- Achieve fast and effective handovers including the timely delivery of all commissioning documentation, training, etc.
- Attend / co-ordinate tri-party system walk downs
- Attend off-site testing and pre-commissioning activities by suppliers or others as needed
- Co-operate with tight change control procedures on assigned projects
- Ensure commissioning Punchlist is compiled and correct actions are assigned to appropriate person
- Impart and apply best practice and knowledge sharing
- Responsible for ensuring professional development is maintained and identified competency requirements are undertaken in a timely manner
- Adherence to the company integrated management system
- Compliance with quality assurance, health and safety and environmental policies
- Demonstrate and promote PD&MS QHSE principles and lead by example
- Ensure unsafe activities are challenged
- Adherence to the requirements of the best practice standards recommendations and processes in the undertaking of duties, in particular, risk assessment and control, reliability and failure prevention necessary to ensure the safe design, provision and use of tools, equipment and systems
- Demonstrate and promote PD&MS values and lead by example
