We are looking for an Instrument Technician to join our friendly and fast-paced R&D department.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with safety protocols and best practices in a laboratory setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and update test setups and instruments (functional models and prototypes).
  • Perform software updates and ensure that test setups and instruments are up to date with the latest firmware and software versions.
  • Troubleshoot issues with instruments and related equipment to identify and address problems in a timely manner and get an understanding of the system performance in practice.
  • Create technical drawings of cables and other components used in the instrumentation.
  • Assist with mechanical drawings and electronics schematics.
  • Perform various tests as needed and test the instruments during development to ensure that they are functioning properly and meeting performance specifications.
  • Prepare instruments and documentation for REL (Reliability, Environmental, Legal) testing.
  • Participate in field testing of instruments at customer sites to gather feedback and identify any issues that may arise.
  • Provide an overview of the status of instruments, including updates and any issues that have been identified.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment at all times.
  • Support lead mechanics on various activities related to new product introduction (design tasks, BOM list, documentation, assembly etc).
  • Other responsibilities may come if agreed due to interest, for instance Health and Safety responsibility in our Laboratory etc
