Description:

Wood is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls EIT or Junior Technologist in Calgary and Edmonton, AB to join our busy and growing Oil & Gas Canada team due to growth in our business!
The role of the I&C EIT will be to work on small and large projects with a senior engineer.
Our projects team has a long history of delivering some of the biggest and most complex projects in the Canadian oilsands, along with associated pipelines and refinery infrastructure. Responsibilities:

  • Interfacing with various engineering disciplines
  • Project Execution may include but not limited to:
  • Specifying, selecting and sizing field instrumentation (Pres/Temp/Flow/Level)
  • Development of instrument datasheets
  • Support Senior Engineers in assigned deliverables and tasks
  • Preparing instrument lists (I/O, instrument index, load lists, etc)
  • Support in the development of Material Take Offs (MTO’s)
  • Preparing Instrument Loop diagrams and termination wiring
  • Support with the development of Material Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations and award recommendations for various instrumentation commodities
  • Instrumentation Technologist or Bachelors in Science degree in Engineering from an accredited University or College.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within Instrumentation and Control systems
  • Minimum of 3 + yrs. Industry experience
  • Good understanding of CSA
  • Existing experience in the oil and gas sector is preferred
  • Ability to problem-solve
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in the use of Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI/Intools) is an asset.
  • Registration through APEGA as an EIT is an asset.
