Function & Overview
Under the supervision of the Director – Information Services, the Integrations Developer will develop and deliver a Micro-Credential platform that integrates SNP’s existing Student Information Systems in support of SNP’s Indigenous Early Learning and Childcare program. This project brings together the Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management System (LMS), and micro-credential badging systems. It will automate the student experience into the micro-credential learning environment and support asynchronous learning in the SNP digital environment. You will work closely with the project team including project managers, Systems and Infrastructure Analysts and other experts to develop detailed solutions, estimates, and project plans in support of business priorities. The Integrations Developer is required to perform all duties consistent with the governance values and operating policies of Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP) while fostering positive relations with staff, students, stakeholders, and the community; contributing to a culturally supportive teaching, learning and work environment consistent with Hodinǫshǫ:nih/Rotinonhson:ni values of Ga’nigohi:yo:/Kanikoriio (Respect and the Good Mind).
Duties
The duties of the Integrations Developer include, without limitation:

Technical

  • Designing and building the integrations, components and interfaces according to project plans, which is followed by monitoring and reporting on the results of the integration and each build related to SNP’s Indigenous Early Learning and Childcare project priorities;
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand their integration needs, and design robust and scalable integrations;
  • Developing, configuring and customizing workflows, data mapping, and transformations within the Micro-Credential platform;
  • Creating, enhancing and managing APIs for various systems to enable seamless data exchange;
  • Implementing data mapping and transformation logic to ensure data consistency and accuracy across integrated systems;
  • Performing thorough testing and quality assurance to identify and resolve integration issues, ensuring reliability and data integrity;

General Administration

  • Managing and maintaining the platform, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing integrations to ensure high availability and performance;
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation of integration processes, configurations, and workflows for reference and training purposes;
  • Working with consultants outside the organization, as required, to ensure the full scope of project requirements are being met; and ensuring that systems are configured and used to their full and appropriate functionality;
  • Analyzing current policy and procedures and providing recommendations for efficiency;
  • Working with the Information Services team to determine appropriate solutions within systems;
  • Responsible for communicating project updates, issues, challenges, and statuses to the Director – Information Services; and
  • Other related duties, as required; the duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field; or combined relevant work experience and education;
  • Experience working in a postsecondary education setting;
  • Prior experience with student information systems implementation is considered an asset;
  • 2+ years of current related professional experience; and
  • Experience as an Integrations Developer with API development and management, and/or with relational databases is considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of integration technology and protocols;
  • Advanced analytical skills with a high degree of conceptual rigour and analytic ability in synthesizing multiple sources of data and information;
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage schedules, portfolios, and timelines, to meet demanding deadlines;
  • Sound interpersonal skills including communication, organization, negotiation, professional judgement, and confidentiality;
  • Demonstrated competencies in strategic thinking, coordination, analysis, policy development, and change management;
  • Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on written expression (i.e., faultless spelling and grammar, and professional style);
  • A general and current knowledge of Hodinohso:ni history, culture, values, contemporary issues, community priorities, and stakeholders;
  • Familiarity with the postsecondary education sector in Ontario, especially the regulatory environment; knowledge of the Indigenous Institutes sector considered a particular asset; and
  • Capacity to work both independently and in a team setting, demonstrating Hodinǫshǫ:nih values of Ga`nigohi:yo:.
