MAJOR CRIME INVESTIGATION TEAM (MCIT) RESEARCHER

  • Full time permanent position
  • 37 hour working week, rota cover a mix of days, evenings and weekends
  • Based in Swindon (2-3 days office based, with travel throughout the surrounding counties depending on operational needs)
  • Salary £29,652pa rising to £30,885pa after qualifying periodwith additional 7.5% shift allowance
    Are you an experienced Researcher working within a legal or criminal investigation field? Would you like to work with a team investigating major crimes throughout Wiltshire? Do you have the ability to self-manage and prioritise your workload in a constantly changing, fast paced environment. Wiltshire Police are currently seeking a MCIT Researcher to join our team. With exceptional attention to detail and experience within a similar role, you will join a team protecting the Wiltshire Community.

Responsibilities:

  • Searching and retrieving information and material in support of investigations, compiling factual reports and briefings, and presenting such material to staff and analysts.
  • Conducting in depth research utilising a range of internal and external databases and liaising with external agencies.
  • Gathering and evaluating information to determine its intelligence potential and identify any threats, risks or opportunities it poses

The successful applicant will have:

  • The ability to review, analyse and present complex information from various sources
  • Exceptional research industry skills and experience
  • The ability to self-motivate and prioritise workload
  • Strong attention to detail, investigating potential errors or incorrect data
