Due to the relocation of our current incumbent, Warburtons are recruiting 2 Interim Engineering Managers to join our team in Enfield. They will offer support whilst we appoint and onboard our new permanent Engineering Manager.
The two Interim Engineering Manager roles will work in close collaboration with each other to support the Engineering function within Enfield, with one supporting on the project side and the other on leading the team. They will be of part of the Senior Leadership team and supported by our national manufacturing excellence function. These opportunities are for approx. 3 to 6 months.
THE RECIPE
One of the roles will focus on engaging, motivating and leading a skilled team of 30 plus engineers, utilising root cause analysis to identify and prioritize corrective, preventative, predictive and mitigating actions. You’ll also continue to encourage and support collaborative working between Engineering and Production.
The second role will focus on a number of key Capex projects, ensuring key milestones are achieved on time and within budget whilst meeting stringent safety and quality requirements. You’ll work closely with our central Engineering team to deliver these objectives.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the implementation of a plant maintenance and improvement programme to increase bakery efficiency and meet performance criteria.
- Identify and manage the execution of site-based projects, ensuring that the plant runs efficiently during trials and that any difficulties are quickly and effectively resolved.
- Monitor plant and equipment to ensure both comply with food safety legislation and initiate any required action in a timely manner.
- Ensure plant and personnel conform to health & safety legislation, policies and standards, initiating any required action so that the site is healthy and safe and free from accidents.
- Recruit, motivate and develop the engineering team to ensure they achieve the goals and targets agreed in their role profiles and performance review meetings.
- Identify and implement energy management and environment standards, providing data and organising projects to ensure that site targets are attained.
- Develop revenue and capital budgets and manage expenditure to ensure that budget targets are achieved.
