Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician
Reports to: Quality Assurance Lead (Operations)
Location: Ledbury, Hazel Park, Dymock Road, HR8 2JQ
Hours: 40 hours per week (Full time) 6:00am- 2:00pm Mon-Fri (6 month fixed term contract)
Salary: £14.35 per hour

Ornua is actively seeking a QA Technician to join our technical department as we continue our growth trajectory. The QA Technician will play a key role in supporting cross functional working, performance improvement initiatives and development of operational processes and is a perfect opportunity for somebody looking to start their career in the food manufacturing industry, full training will be provided.

WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE:

The QA Technician is responsible for leading on;
Support operations in complaint and non-conformance investigations
Assist with the creation, amendments and set up of labels in readiness for production
Non-conformance identification and corrective action (internal rejections, foreign body reports)
Dealing efficiently with customer enquiries, internal and external.
Maintenance of factory quality documents & Redzone Compliance system.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within all areas of operations in order to comply with BRC, Customer and Industry standards.
Assist with pilot trials and main plant trials / launches as necessary.
Internal Auditing including GMP, and Glass Plastics factory audits
Oversee, educate and audit the production process to ensure CCPs, CPs, QAS documentation is completed against the standards.
Factory Equipment Calibration / Verification
Overseeing QC personnel carrying out on line checks
Provide cover for the Quality technician (PM shift) in periods of absence
Technical Inductions, GMP and CCP training
Additional duties as directed by the Interim Quality Assurance Manager (Operations) and/or Technical Manager

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

Good verbal communication skills on one to one and group basis
Computer literacy with literacy and numeric skills
Able to work effectively as part of a team
Attention to detail
Food industry background with experience in Quality Assurance
