Job Description
AECOM Buildings + Places Architectural team is seeking an Interior Design Technologist to join our team. This role offers the flexibility to be based out of Kitchener, Mississauga, Markham, or London, ON, with the option for hybrid work.

In this role you will:

  • Spearhead the creation of design and construction document drawings, bringing projects from conception to completion while adhering to the highest standards.
  • Tackle design assignments with precision under the mentorship of our discipline leaders.
  • Craft interior design drawings that reflect both complexity and clarity.
  • Utilize your deep understanding of specific disciplines to influence design outcomes.
  • Navigate codes, permits, and cutting-edge software with ease.
  • Translate project specifications into compelling designs that speak to both form and function.
  • Engage with vendor documents and materials management to ensure project integrity.
  • Contribute to project budget evaluations by analyzing manpower and cost data.
  • Forecast costs and changes with an analytical mindset, ensuring project adaptability.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must meet the below requirement, at a very minimum:

  • A Diploma/Certificate in Interior Design from a recognized Canadian institution plus two years of relevant experience in interior design, showcasing a portfolio of diverse and impactful projects.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency in industry-leading software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, accessibility standards, and sustainability practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • A passion for continuous learning and professional development in the field of interior design.
  • Institutional design experience.
