Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Intermediate Accountant will assist in the preparation of divisional/banner financial statements and supporting schedules according to Monthly/Quarterly/Annual close schedules, ensuring integrity of financial information and compliance with accounting policies and procedures. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who is pursuing their CPA designation, as this position will count towards the required work experience hours.
The successful candidate will bring strong communication, and technical skills to the role, serving as an effective member of the Finance team. The Intermediate Accountant will have the opportunity to be directly involved in exciting initiatives focused on finding efficiencies and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in business, commerce, accounting, or related discipline.
  • Minimum three years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including prior experience in the use of pivot tables, advanced formulas, filtering, and organizing large volumes of data.
  • Preferably enrolled in the CPA program and near completion.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team contributing to a positive and progressive work environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines during peak periods.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare month-end journal entries (expense and revenue accruals).
  • Ownership of warranty financial statements.
  • Prepare daily cash flow and weekly payment proposals.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts to the general ledger.
  • Review capital expenditure for acquisition posting.
  • Prepare monthly reports and perform related analyses.
  • Prepare reports as requested for decision-making purposes.
  • Prepare monthly sales reports, calculate percentage rent & prepare annual sales certification to the landlord.
  • Assist team members as needed.
  • Perform other related duties.
