OBJECTIVE

Well, We are looking for an experienced accounting professional for an Intermediate Accountant position for our client.
You will play a critical role in providing accounting support to the Finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures, as well as experience with financial reporting and analysis. Our client has been in business since the 1980s.
This will provide a dynamic environment with immense career growth potential down the line. This Intermediate Accountant role can grow into an Accounting Manager position down the line as the current Accounting Manager will be looking to retire in the near future. Further, this position is a newly created role, with lots of opportunities to expand your skillset while reporting to the CFO directly. Laying the perfect ground for mentorship.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Accounting designation, such as CPA/CGA/CMA or CA certification is preferred.
  • 5+ years in full cycle accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior management to achieve KPIs and support strategic plans.
  • Establish and enforce financial policies, procedures, and controls to maximize asset returns and ensure compliance.
  • Manage budgeting, cash flow, and forecasting, including departmental budgets and financial planning.
  • Coordinate with external accountants for timely tax filings and SRED claims.
  • Oversee monthly to annual financial reporting and ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and oversee inventory management for financial optimization.
  • Prepare and reconcile financial statements promptly.
  • Lead the invoicing, accounts payable, and receivable departments for improved financial operations.
  • Manage policies and reporting for accounting systems and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Review and authorize credit, insurance, and payment procedures.
  • Facilitate cheque runs and payment releases in line with purchase orders and supplier terms.
  • Automate financial transactions while maintaining control and reporting integrity.
  • Maintain service contracts and records of key assets and liabilities.
  • Implement programs to improve financial performance metrics.Handle additional accounting and financial tasks as directed by the CEO.
