THE OPPORTUNITY
Looking for a role doing what you love at a dynamic and innovative consulting firm? We are looking for an Intermediate Civil Engineer to join our team at our Kelowna location on a permanent full-time basis.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Civil Engineering.
- Registered as a licensed Professional Engineer in British Columbia.
- 8+ years’ work experience in Civil Engineering.
- Strong Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experienced in construction Field Review requirements.
- Proven understanding of municipal and land development infrastructure design.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional organization, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively.
- Safety-oriented attitude.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Experience with SWM software and relevant design software.
- Professional experience in civil engineering, design, tender document preparation, and contract administration.
- Previous success in customer service, client management, business development, and proposal writing.
Responsibilities:
- Design for a variety of infrastructure improvement projects, including municipal capital renewal projects, residential land development, commercial/institutional sites, storm water management, roads, and highways, using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other industry-standard modeling software.
- Prepare engineering studies, specifications, and reports.
- Manage client communications and meet all client requirements throughout the design and reporting process.
- Project Management for your portfolio of projects where you are acting as the Engineer of Record.
- Interpreting and verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards.
- Prepare construction and project close-out documents.
- Act as contract administrator for construction services.
- Daily reporting and leading project team meetings.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technical staff to ensure deliverables are accurately prepared.
- Participate in business development activities and writing proposals.
- Coordination with sub-consultants and other disciplines on projects.
- Travel to project sites to conduct field reviews and collect data to support design and construction activities.
