POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering geotechnical engineering solutions for a wide range of projects, contributing to the success and growth of our company.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (APEGBC).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering consulting, with a focus on site investigations, design, and construction support.
  • Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, including soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical analysis methods.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical software packages such as gINT, GeoStudio, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work under pressure.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites, as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct geotechnical investigations, including site reconnaissance, field testing, and laboratory analysis, to assess soil and rock properties for engineering design.
  • Prepare geotechnical engineering reports, including geotechnical baseline studies, slope stability analyses, and foundation design recommendations.
  • Perform numerical modeling and analysis using software such as PLAXIS, FLAC, or similar programs to evaluate complex geotechnical problems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, environmental scientists, and project managers, to integrate geotechnical considerations into project designs.
  • Provide technical support during construction phases, including field inspections, monitoring, and troubleshooting of geotechnical issues.
  • Assist in business development activities, including proposal preparation, client meetings, and presentations to secure new projects.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in geotechnical engineering to enhance service offerings and maintain technical excellence.
