Our market-leading Consumer, Regulatory and Compliance (CRC) team, within the Corporate & Commercial department of our Auckland offices, is looking for an experienced lawyer with drive and ambition to provide outstanding service to our clients.
This role involves working closely with partners Laura Littlewood and Richard Massey, who provide commercial, regulatory and technology advice across a range of evolving legal frameworks – including AI, data privacy, consumer law, cyber security and ESG. You will also work with the wider Corporate department as a specialist advisor on corporate transactions.
As an intermediate/senior lawyer in the team, you will advise on a wide range of projects, delivering focussed advice across a wide range of contexts at the forefront of legal and regulatory developments.
Recent examples of our diverse and exciting work includes advising private and public sector clients on:
- technology and digital infrastructure projects, including for New Zealand’s emergency services agencies and New Zealand Schools
- “greenwashing”, climate-related disclosure, modern slavery statements and related contractual protections
- emerging AI legal frameworks, including AI governance, contracts and deployment
- consumer law compliance including marketing campaigns for new product launches
- lenders and FinTech clients on financial services regulatory reforms and Open Banking
- major contracts
- ownership and commercialisation of intellectual property
- data breaches and related cyber security and privacy issues
- technology and regulatory workstreams for significant mergers and acquisitions
