Client:
I have been approached by a well-known Building Services Consultancy who are looking for an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their busy M&E Team. This is due to an expansion of the business and the heavy flow of projects coming through at present and in the future.
This company is a large international multidisciplinary consultancy that have a broad range of projects both within the UK and Abroad.
The Role
The role:
As an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking the design of mechanical building engineering services including plant room design, heating, domestic hot and cold water services, ventilation and air conditioning. Day to day duties will include; design and supervise mechanical services, prepare sketch and scheme designs, prepare drawings, specifications and tender documentation, help with the tenders and preparation of tender reports, attend site progress meetings and inspection of installation works, conduct surveys of existing installations and preparation of condition reports and preparation of project cost plans and estimates.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualification and Skills:
- Have a HNC/Degree within Mechanical Engineering
- A working knowledge of the current Building Regulations, SAP calculations, IES calculations, as well as thermal heat gains and heat loss calculations.
- Specific knowledge of refrigeration systems and pipework, together with general heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
- Relevant experience with both commercial and residential projects is a necessity.
