    GEMTEC is a growing firm with offices throughout Atlantic Canada and in Ontario, and we are looking for a motivated and skilled Intermediate/ Senior Civil Engineer to join our Team.     We currently have an opening for an Intermediate/ Senior Civil Engineer to support work in the Magdalen Islands, Quebec. The position will report into our Moncton, New Brunswick office. As a bilingual professional, you will play a crucial role in managing projects, providing survey and field inspection services, and contributing to the growth and success of our firm.
    The successful candidate will have the following:

EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligible to become a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Project management experience, civil design, and field inspection will be considered assets.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D will be considered assets.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Aptitude for independent work.
  • Bilingual communication skills (French and English) both written and oral, with a primary focus on working in French.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in the following:

  • Lead and manage civil engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop project objectives, schedules, and budgets, then monitor progress against established plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate project activities and deliverables.
  • Conduct topographic surveys to support engineering projects.
  • Perform field inspections to assess project sites, identify potential issues, ensure project compliance with plans and specifications, and write inspection reports.
  • Provide technical expertise in civil engineering design, particularly for coastal erosion and shoreline protection projects, dredging, marine infrastructure, and others.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their project needs and expectations.
  • Communicate project updates, milestones, and potential issues to clients in a clear and professional manner

Responsibilities:
