Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate to Senior Industrial Electrical Technologist to join our Electrical & Instrumentation team in Halifax, NS.
As the successful candidate, you will be working with an established team of professional engineers and technologists in developing innovative multidisciplinary design solutions. Previous electrical experience in industrial, water, wastewater, and municipal projects is preferred but not required.

YOUR CAPABILITIES AND CREDENTIALS:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent;
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, however less experienced individuals will be considered;
  • Experience working in a consulting engineering environment is preferred;
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD software with ability to create and edit electrical design drawings;
  • Working knowledge of Revit, AGI32 and SKM Power Tools software is an asset;
  • Familiarity working with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Proficient at multi-tasking and able to work diligently to meet time-sensitive deadlines;
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work in a team environment;
  • Detail orientated, organized and have effective time management skills; and
  • Willingness to travel to job sites;

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of preliminary and detailed designs for industrial facilities, water & wastewater treatment plants, pump stations and similar infrastructure;
  • Prepare electrical engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Revit;
  • Complete electrical design tasks and calculations for projects;
  • Support the day-to-day activities of projects from inception through engineering and construction;
  • Prepare designs in accordance with the most recent electrical codes and standards;
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members;
  • Coordinate with utilities, equipment suppliers, contractors, and clients;
  • Conduct site surveys of existing conditions;
  • Assist with construction administration tasks; and
  • Adhere to company Safety and QA/QC policies and procedures.
