YOUR CAPABILITIES AND CREDENTIALS

  • Certified BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) strongly preferred.
  • Certified BICSI Registered Telecommunications Project Manager (RTPM) an asset.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, floor plans and Construction/Demolition design drawings of Floor & Main Telecom Rooms, data center and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Thorough knowledge and familiarity with Canadian electrical standards and codes.
  • Thorough knowledge of TIA/BICSI standards & best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills required.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and Revit an asset.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, IT or technical field is preferred.
  • 5 years relevant experience in structured cable systems or similar.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and perform Structured Cabling Design such as pre-engagement & post-engagement site visits, customer discovery meetings, on-site assessments, onsite reports, deliverables review, and other field activities as required.
  • Serve as technical resource to field personnel and others in assigned work group. Provide technical advice, guidance, training and input to the review and evaluation of performance of work on-site.
  • Assist with resource planning, work prioritization and documentation of regional processes and guidelines.
  • Liaison and coordinating with external and internal clients to identify business development opportunities.
  • Proposal preparation assistance including engineering estimates.
  • Prepare engineering reports, specifications, tender and construction drawings and documents.
  • Participate in peer design reviews.
