OMERS Capital Markets continues to build out its Asia Pacific investment capability out of the OMERS Singapore office. OMERS Capital Markets invests in both developed and developing markets of Asia and across the entire capital structure, with a primary focus in public markets.
We also invest in private markets and partner and co-invest with third party fund managers.
As a member of the Capital Markets Asia Pacific team, the Intern Analyst position is a research role. It is tasked with enabling the team to deliver absolute return performance by investing in equities and fixed income securities in the Asia Pacific region. Key responsibilities and contributions are centered around forensic and fundamental investment research. The Intern Analyst will be intellectually curious and a life-long learner who has a strong technical experience conducting industry and company analysis, modelling and valuation.

We are looking for students to intern for the Fall Time Internship (August - December) and will apply for Leave of Absence (LOA) from their degree programme.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong interest in investment research in the Asia Pacific region
  • Pursuing a university degree in economics, business, quantitative or computer science related discipline
  • Excellent analytical skills with an ability to generate deep insights
  • Intellectually curiosity and deep comfort with robust debate and challenge
  • Ability to articulate clear, logical, and convincing arguments and explain complex ideas simply
  • Action-oriented proactive with a high degree of initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Effective team player with a collaborative attitude
  • Impeccable integrity
  • Years 3-4 preferred, flexible to strong year 2 candidates
