Description:
Global Counsel is seeking an intern to support the work of its Asia team in Singapore, with a focus on politics and policy monitoring and research in identified markets in the region, particularly China and Southeast Asia.
The successful candidate will work across a range of corporate clients from the FTSE 100 and Fortune 500, as well as global private equity firms. They will boost the team’s policy analysis with a sharp commercial edge and be ready to take on client-facing tasks under the supervision of a member of GC.
Role and responsibilities
- Research and draft analytical reports and presentations for clients.
- Produce analysis of set-piece political events such as elections, budgets, and major policy announcements.
- Contribute to business development initiatives and help prepare GC colleagues for client presentations and conference speeches.
- Contribute to GC’s house view on relevant policy developments.
- Support existing relationships with clients and a wider network of businesses and policymakers at senior levels.
Requirements
This role is likely a good fit for current students and/or recent graduates able to:
- Provide strategic and evidence-based analysis on public policy in a consultancy or corporate environments. Experience with concise writing and policy monitoring is particularly welcome.
- Describe and analyse policy announcements within the political context of identified regional markets.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills in English.
- A motivated self-starter who works well independently and as part of a small team.
