JOB DESCRIPTION
At our Virtual Competence Centre for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Controls, we are currently seeking an intern or a student worker (m/f/d) to join our team of simulation engineers and contribute to improvement of simulation flow and automated tools. You will become part of an international and diverse team of simulation specialists and engineers in our R&D department located at the heart of Hamburg HafenCity.

For this position, you need to be studying for a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computational mechanics or mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, physics, computer science, or a similar field. We are also looking for the following qualifications:
- Good programming skills in languages such as Python, C++
- Familiarity with simulation tools, e.g., ANSYS software and frameworks is a plus.
- Basic understanding of software development methodologies and practices.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently.
- Team-oriented and motivated to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Fluent English skills

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with our experienced software engineering team to develop tools that enhance and automate the simulation process, including pre-processing, processing, and post-processing stages.
- Support the integration of various software components into the overall system, ensuring seamless functionality and performance.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of documentation for the software tools and systems you work on.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, and testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
