Role & Responsibilities

• Assist in
• preparation of lab reagents
• managing chemical inventory and waste disposal
• building FTIR library
• supporting plant investigations
• executing organic reactions
• Understanding of compliance with ALCOA principles
• Maintain good laboratory records on the experiments conducted
• Maintain good lab housekeeping and assist in maintaining 5S in the lab
• Observe lab safety rules at all times

Requirements:

• Chemical hazard awareness
• Basic lab skills
• Effective communication
• Report writing
• MS Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

Skills to be developed through this internship:

• Safe handling and storage of chemicals
• Selection and usage of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
• GxP documentation
• Understanding of basic plant operations
• Hands on experience with lab instruments including
• Weighing balances
• pH meter
• KF titrator
• FTIR spectrometer
