LOCATION/DIVISION SPECIFIC INFORMATION This position is within the Microbiological laboratory of Thermo Fisher Scientific in Italy, Ferentino site. DISCOVER IMPACTFUL WORK: The Quality Control intern provides specific support for microbiological release testing in quality control functions ensuring site compliance with QC testing and corporate requirements and works on the introduction of new technology (non-animal-derived reagent) for Bacterial Endotoxin test. A DAY IN THE LIFE: - Actively participate in daily team assignments. - Support laboratory testing and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed. - Support improvement projects in Microbiology assays and validation strategy. - Support the introduction of recombinant reagent for the Bacterial Endotoxin test - Exemplifies professional behaviors as well as a quality culture mentality. - Operates within company and regulatory policies and procedures. - Excellent interpersonal, analytical/problem solving and communication skills. - Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and capability to confidently work well with all levels of leadership and teams. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Working toward a Master’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other pharmaceutical/biotech related field of study. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES - Capability to use diverse resources, respond quickly, understand impact of changes and decisions, facilitate agreement, and build collaborative relationships. - Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Windows-based software. - Ability to function in a constantly evolving environment and balance multiple priorities simultaneously.
