QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATION

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English

EXPERIENCE (TYPE & LEVEL)

  • Experience of asset Finance and term lending products
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment
  • Experience of working in a customer focused environment and in a small to medium sized organisation

TECHNICAL/SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Computer literate (Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite – Excel, Word, Power-Point)
  • Good knowledge of compliance procedures

Responsibilities:

To join our Digital SME Lending Team (DSME) as a member of our dynamic External Sales Team with a view to helping us grow our revised proposition amongst our Broker population. The aim is for us to establish Shawbrook DSME as the “go to” funder at the heart of the UK SME ecosystem.
This role will be focussed on writing a mix of Mid Markets business (£250k-£5m) - both standalone transactions and credit line business, so the successful candidate will need to be extremely experienced and well connected within the AF/SME space with a good knowledge of both the UK SME Broker market and key AF intensive industry sectors such as construction and waste management.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage & grow an assigned community of Broker Partners driving relationships to achieve & exceed financial targets, by focusing predominantly on transactions <£250k
  • Develop an understanding of our products (Asset Finance and Term Lending) and criteria to have competent broker conversations where necesary
  • Manage a portfolio of c. 30 brokers on a telephony basis by making a high volume of outbound calls per day
  • Communicate DSME rate cards and drive an increase in business from the brokers allocated
  • Encourage adoption of DSME broker portal targeting 100% of portfolio to be submitting via the portal by the end of 2023
  • Thoughtfully distribute marketing materials to brokers to encourage conversations and feedback to drive new business
  • Manage onboarding of new brokers into your portfolio and be responsible for your broker’s in life management tasks
  • Assist with increasing conversions by analyzing broker performance and recommending next steps to Growth team
  • Support pipeline activities where relevant to your portfolio including:
  • Understanding where your pipeline deals are at all times in the end-to-end deal process and what is outstanding
  • Provide updates on weekly pipeline calls
  • Work with the broker to close down outstanding items
  • Work with Internal Sales and Parter Payouts to push each deal through to completion
  • Support monthly process around our broker surveys which is a key part of our knowledge and feedback around broker satisfaction.
  • Feedback key market intelligence with regard to competitors as well as both positive comments and improvement areas for the Bank as a whole.
  • Engage with the wider BDM team and take part in BDM team meetings / training events where relevant.
  • Attend networking opportunities with brokers as agreed with the relevant senior team member
