Description:

Internal Communication Manager reporting to the Head of Organisational Development; based in the Human Resources Dept.
This is a senior permanent full time role. It will require travel within the island of Ireland.
A clean full driving licence and car is essential for this role.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 5 years experience of professional HR/Internal Communications/Marketing experience, with a relevant qualification.
  • Exceptional organisation and planning skills, a proven track record in leading & supporting organisational development, employee engagement, EVP and/or change programmes
  • Able to build and nurture communities across different parts of a business.
  • Clear passion for collaborating with colleagues from the businesses to enable culture change.
  • Collaborative team player who is results driven with lots of energy and enthusiasm for the role.
  • Excellent verbal, written and digital communication skills, including experience with survey assessment platforms and tools. Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organisational issues and challenges, with the ability to quickly grasp complex business problems and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to influence others to move towards a common vision or goal. Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others.
  • Strong theoretical and practical understanding of employee engagement and communications landscapes.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced ambiguous environment, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and demonstrate resilience.
  • High levels of self-motivation and resilience, accustomed to managing complex programmes of work with significant organisation-wide impacts.

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Internal Communications Manager is a new role created within Calor to support the necessary cultural shift required across our multi-site locations and create the appropriate organisation structure, culture and capabilities so that Calor is ready for the Energy Transition.
Calor are seeking an experienced Internal Communications professional to lead, coordinate and guide the company in the delivery of various change projects and cultural development. The Internal Comms Manager is intrinsic to developing a culture where employees feel engaged and empowered and where innovation and collaboration are the norm.
The Internal Communications Manager reports to the Head of Organisation Development. This is a senior manager level position responsible for creating an internal communications and employer branding approach to accelerate business transformation and bring about an innovative culture across the company.

FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE/MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement an internal communications strategy that engages and aligns Calor Ireland people around the company’s strategic objectives, values and mission.
  • Develop and deliver engaging internal news, change programmes, employee updates, internal campaigns and events embracing new technologies.
  • Accountability for internal branding in conjunction with the Marketing team to deliver an inspiring and consistent message across all Calor locations
  • Generate and lead creative campaigns in line with our strategy that engage, inspire and motivate employees.
  • Review communication process flow, channels and meeting structures, identify gaps and blockages, ensure an optimal mix of top-down, sideways and bottom-up communication.
  • Lead Calor’s cross-functional Communications Network and coordinate Manager and Team Leader forums, creating a literacy friendly work environment.
  • Oversee the delivery of the employee engagement survey and regular ‘temperature check’ pulse surveys to collect valuable analytics and insights across the employee lifecycle.
  • Analyse and act on employee insight and feedback in a timely manner, identifying key strengths and developments area by business area for focus and review.
  • Facilitate the employee engagement action planning process ensuring there is a focus on harnessing ideas, energy and enthusiasm to make Calor an inclusive and diverse place to work.
  • Identify communication initiatives that inspire and support managers to become better leaders and build a sense of connectedness between managers and employees.
  • Coach and support leaders and managers to deliver authentic, clear and consistent communications to their teams.
  • Run simple, effective and innovative communications channels that are easy to use, engaging and encourage dialogue.
  • Conduct both quantitative and qualitative data analysis to produce trends and insights to make recommendations to the business.
  • Develop an Employer Branding strategy and implement the global SHV Energy Employee Value Proposition (EVP) that helps us to attract and retain the best talent, creating supporting assets, such as videos, e-brochures, podcasts, etc
  • Work as part of the HR team to ensure we have an insight led People strategy and plan to deliver a collaborative culture of innovation and change.
  • Develop and implement a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme that builds collaboration and engagement.
