Description:

In this role, the Internal Communications Specialist will help lead companywide internal communications projects and initiatives, working with their Internal Communications teammates as well as teams across the company. They will be responsible for meeting with their designated Business Partners, understanding their Business Partners’ communication needs, building internal communications plans, and writing communication deliverables, all while advocating for the best communications experience for all ALDI team members. They will have the opportunity to build their strategic problem solving and client relationship skills, while also recommending new processes and procedures that help the Internal Communications team work more effectively. The ideal candidate should have strong written and verbal communication skills and an attention to detail, be adaptable and a go-getter, and maintain a passion for internal communications. The objective of this role is to lead internal communications projects and build relationships throughout the business.

This role is eligible to participate in ALDI’s Hybrid Work Program, which allows remote work up to 3 days per week (i.e., work remotely up to 3 days per week; work in-office at least 2 days per week).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Business, Liberal Arts or a related field required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or Human Resources required.
  • Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work may be performed in an office, remote office or a combination of both where a computer and office equipment may be used as needed to perform duties.
  • Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand and move from one area to another.
  • Constantly and repeatedly use keyboard/mouse.
  • Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift and move up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides consulting to direct leader for further development of the department’s strategy.
  • Collaborates with external and internal stakeholders to identify new areas of opportunity.
  • Makes recommendations to increase efficiencies on Internal Communications team.
  • Consults with assigned business partners regarding communications needs and recommended solutions.
  • Writes clear, concise and grammatically correct internal communications copy.
  • Recommends process improvements for area of responsibility.
  • Manages projects pertaining to assigned business partners.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for communications.
  • Stays abreast of new and current technology and communication trends to support the overall strategy.
  • Ensures the successful roll out of companywide communication.
  • Aligns communications with the ALDI master brand and employer brand.
  • Represents the team in independent interactions with assigned business partners.
  • Provides communications project management services to business representatives with limited involvement from their direct leader.
  • Liaises with external vendors and holds them accountable, as needed, to fulfill communication needs and requests.
  • Assures that required and necessary documentation is completed and properly maintained in order to provide substantiation and assist with future audits.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of best-in-class employee communication practices and keeps leadership informed.
  • Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to leadership.
  • Upholds the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility.
  • Other duties as assigned.
