ABOUT US
The Research Coordination Office (RCO) for the Life and Medical Sciences works across UCL faculties by; supporting researchers in securing research funding; coordinating the development of grant proposals from concept, to drafting, to collaborations; providing insight into funder priorities and processes; managing strategic partnerships with key research funders; and, administering internal funding streams.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an effective, highly numerate, organised administrator, able to work with professional services staff and academics with great attention to detail. This role will be to support research at UCL funded by Official development assistance (ODA) and research with and in Low-and-middle-income-countries (LMICs). This will include analysing the ODA research funding environment, supporting cross-disciplinary research based on the challenges faced by LMICs, and supporting short-term, focussed project with the aim of maximising the research funding opportunity presented by the International Science partnership Fund (ISPF). A primary function of the role is providing support to the Strategic Research Coordinator (Global Health) on active governance and management of the ISPF Institutional Support Grant from Research England (£1.3m). The post holder will be required to support distributing and monitoring the funding internally in an auditable compliant manner within the tight timeframes, based on the agreed institutional strategy. The role will include supporting the setup, running and management of an Internal Fuding Call including monitoring of spending, liaising with academic and professional services staff across the institution and pre and post award support for these awards.
