INTERN IN MECHANICAL ANALYSIS & TEST OF SPACE STRUCTURES (D/F/M)

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enrolled full-time student within aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or similar field of study
  • First knowledge in Structural Finite-Element Analysis (dynamic analysis would be a plus)
  • Experience with MS Office (including Excel)
  • First experience with Finite-Element Analysis Software like Nastran and Hyperworks
  • Nice to have: Experience in programming with Matlab
  • English: fluent
  • Nice to have: German

Responsibilities:

This internship aims at supporting the team with structural analyses in satellites, mechanisms and instruments projects and supporting the development and improvement of department processes.

This will include many of the following tasks:

  • Create Finite Element (FE) Models of satellite structures, instruments and components. FE models have to be compliant to department standards and good practices
  • Conduct static and dynamic, linear and nonlinear structural analyses
  • Perform structural assessments by means of hand calculations
  • Prepare, support and evaluate mechanical tests
  • (Further-) develop analysis methods and processes
  • (Further-) develop tools in Excel or Matlab for the automatization of analysis pre-/ post processing tasks
  • Understand and prepare technical documentation in English or German
