REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics or related fields. Students entering their final year of undergraduate studies would also be considered.
  • Experience of mechanical design and a keen interest in product or instrumentation development.
  • Enthusiasm for hands-on interaction with physical hardware.
  • Problem-solving mindset with an interest in conducting experimental work.
  • Experience using 3D CAD tools, ideally Solidworks
  • Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or C++ would be advantageous.
  • Ability to organise, analyse, and deliver information in a concise, accurate, and professional manner; strong written and oral communication skills; excellent data management skills.
  • An interest in cutting-edge science and a high degree of integrity and team orientation; a can-do motivating attitude.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing tools for protein and cellular biochemistry using our high throughput discovery platform.
  • Concept development and the evolution of detailed design solutions using CAD tools.
  • Carry out system component prototyping, testing and validation.
  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists to develop software for controlling microfluidic and optical instruments.
  • Contribute to the development of tools, libraries, and scripts for instrument development and validation.
  • Apply technical knowledge to identify new technologies and components that can enhance system performance.
