THE FOLLOWING TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Currently pursuing a Polytechnic Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science or Biological Science
  • Laboratory technique skills in molecular lab (preferably in molecular assays, sequencing, PCR, qPCR)
  • Knowledge in Life Science/Biomedical science is an added advantage.

THESE SOFT SKILLS:

  • English language writing skills to write laboratory reports
  • Presentation skills to present project outcomes to internal stakeholders

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with investigating the gut microbiota through the usage of molecular tools available.
  • Learn and apply the technique of 16S rRNA sequencing or quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) for analysing gut microbiota and understand the dynamics of microbial colonization. This will also provide fundamental principles of good laboratory practices.
