Description:
UPMC offers a $10,000 sign on bonus with a 2-year commitment for new hires.
Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
This position works 10-hour shifts with a rotating day off.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn new skills as well as educate others in their areas of expertise. Serves as a resource for new hires and students.
- Demonstrates the ability to function independently and perform services at other facilities including on call responsibility.
- Performs all job responsibilities of an Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist II
- Works as team member within assigned area to expedite patient care efficiently by demonstrating excellent communication and customer service skills. Effectively communicates with physicians, co-workers, managers, and patients in assigned sites and/or departments.
- Completes yearly project designed for the service line and or for implementation at the system level, content agreed upon with management. Content areas include but not limited to: evidence-based practice change; service line workgroup leadership; quality improvement; research.
- Demonstrate mastery of all equipment utilized for procedures.
- Active role in inventory management as assigned. Assures that annual lead apron testing is completed.
- Active participation in quality improvement activities for department as well as system level workgroups
- Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology (RT-R) or Invasive Cardiovascular Technology (RCIS) or certified/licensed as a Paramedic in the state of Pennsylvania with current credentialing maintained. Bachelor of Science in health care related filed accepted but not required.
- 2 years of experience in invasive cardiology, vascular and/or electrophysiology.
- Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
