Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Inventory Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate fuel inventory data and reconciliations while also ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
REQUIRED/PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school degree or equivalent, college level accounting classes preferred
- 3 years of previous accounting experience
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy
- MS Excel proficiency – xlookup and pivot tables
- NetSuite experience preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Proficient in the English language and able to communicate effectively in oral and written form
Responsibilities:
- Gain and maintain a working knowledge of Offen Petroleum’s accounting processes and policies
- Reconcile and process all incoming and outgoing fuel inventory
- Prepare sales and purchase orders for bulk fuel transactions
- Compile and analyze data for daily and monthly inventory receipts and fulfillments
- Create and update monthly account reconciliations for all inventory products and accounts
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline inventory accounting processes
- Maintain documentation for internal and external audits
- Work closely with the bulk supply group to ensure completeness of all bulk transactions
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure proper inventory accounting treatment of transactions
- Track and manage all pipeline and railcar fuel transactions
- Other duties as assigned
