QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience with 3+ years of inventory/cost accounting experience.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations (IFRS).
  • Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a distributed team. Experience working with multiple legal entities and global operations.
  • Highly organized and a clear communicator.
  • Fluent in English (company language).

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

E-commerce retail company product costs & inventory are the most complex parts of accounting operations and the most important driver of company profitability. As Inventory Accounting Manager you will develop and maintain robust inventory accounting principles and processes, ensuring accuracy at every step. You will be partnering across time zones with internal stakeholders to ensure data flow and help continually develop processes and controls. In this role you will report directly to the Head of Global Accounting and Finance Operations and will be responsible for all relevant topics across multiple countries, preparing accounts using NetSuite under IFRS using NetSuite. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own end-to-end inventory accounting processes and provide analysis of company performance.
  • Analyze and explain monthly balance sheet and income statement fluctuations and variances.
  • Research important accounting issues and suggest the best practices and applications in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Lead efforts to report, manage & dispose of excess & obsolete inventory.
  • Assist in developing material standards and overhead rates for freight and duties.
  • Protect integrity of inventory by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Manage the Inventory master & bills of materials for assembled products.
  • Oversee the company cycle count program.
  • Coordinate the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of period end close activities for inventory and related inventory reserves.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly account reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with the FP&A, Accounts Payable, Production, Operations, and Logistics departments to streamline data flow.
  • Assist with the financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements to ensure accounting procedures and reporting conform to IFRS .
