Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

As an Inventory Control Supervisor, you are responsible for requesting, receiving, tracking, organizing, and stocking production inputs and materials to keep pace with the rapid growth of the company, while optimizing key supply chain metrics. They will manage inventory locations throughout the plant including production cells, stores, overflow, and quarantine, while ensuring inventory accuracy between systems and physical on hand. You will oversee a team of associates who are responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, handling, and material movement of inventory while supplying production inputs to manufacturing operations throughout the plant. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal stakeholders to interpret production schedules and demand forecasts and leverage a Kanban system along with vendor-managed inventory (VMI) across raw materials, consumables, packaging, and other parts and components. You will build and utilize business tools and models to derive replenishment parameters (Kanban) that align with production schedules and maximize service levels while adhering to working capital and inventory turns targets. The Inventory Control Supervisor will interact with our ERP software, and work with the system to add/deplete inventory, modify PO statuses, identify re-order points, and ensure inventory integrity through cycle counts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years of supervisor experience in inventory control, supply chain, materials management, logistics, shipping/receiving, or warehousing within a manufacturing environment
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Inventory Management, Supply Chain, Analytics, or Operations
  • Familiar with the concepts of MRP (Materials Requirement Planning) and Forecasting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and a strong problem-solver
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Able to work within a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Must be able to work in a team environment but also be self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Experience with ERP, WMS, or Inventory Management software applications
  • Ability to read and interpret pick lists and BOMs
  • Familiar with OHSA and ESA regulations
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs. is required

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize inventory levels relating to direct and indirect materials across warehouse locations
  • Work with the Supply Management Team to define replenishment parameters using Kanban (Min/Max/Reorder Point) methodology, factoring in adequate safety stock levels and vendor lead times
  • Maintain ownership and accuracy of inventory quantities (perform regular cycle counts)
  • Maintain the ERP system and ensure that information is current and accurate
  • Analyze daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory shortages
  • Organize warehouse space, ensuring the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, efficiency, and accuracy are met
  • Supervise a team with the following responsibilities:
  • Receive, check, unload, and place incoming warehouse deliveries appropriately in a designated warehouse or production location
  • Partner with Accounting department to facilitate the “3-way match” process
  • Inspect all incoming packages/products for shortages, defects, and damages
  • Compare bills of lading with actual goods received and update ERP system accordingly
  • Optimize the flow of materials throughout the facility, utilizing forklifts, hand trucks, carts, racking, and other warehousing tools and equipment, while adhering to regulations set forth by governing bodies (OHSA, ESA, etc.)
  • Pick and deliver production materials to the manufacturing operations according to a bill of materials (BOM)
  • Complete daily housekeeping checklist to ensure 5S standards are adhered to
