Description:
Inventory and Inbound Manager
Purpose of role: Act as the primary point of contact for all communication regarding inbound stock flow management and Islip stock control matters, including discrepancies and queries. To ensure that accurate internal communication of inbound stock movement occurs. To ensure the effective programme of Perpetual Inventory is monitored, reported and completed within the required timescales.

Location: Islip
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining site counts to ensure target availability of products.
- Setting operational standards for all staff to follow.
- Managing excess and ageing stock.
- Reviewing service levels on a continuous basis.
- Using electronic inventory tracking to scan stock and reconcile inventory.
- Putting forward recommendations for operational policy, procedures and goals.
- Creating and maintaining reports to enable analysis of data.
- Maintaining effective relationships with internal customers..
- Investigating store complaints.
- Manage, solve & eliminate process exceptions on Heavey
- Investigate stock adjustments prior to them being sent to JDA
- Perform Approval of adjustments that are outside the adjustment threshold on JDA
- Allocation of staff to ensure discrepancy tasks are dealt with in a timely fashion – e.g. Short picks
- Put Proactive measures in place to prevent allocation shortages
- To help the operation solve allocation shortages – prioritise this work load to ensure orders are satisfied
- Achievement of personal development objectives
- To analyse and report the record of adjustments on the Cycle Counting and Inventory checks.
- To investigate and report on discrepancies between Primark and site stock records following the required stock takes at Magna Park.
- To identify causes of stock discrepancies.
- To work with the Operations Team to prepare and oversee the implementation of action plans to reduce stock errors and discrepancies.
- To audit all operational processes to identify causes of inventory errors.
- Drive inbound accuracy through clear internal SLA’s for performance – To be rolled out to the UK Network once implemented and bedded as culture.
- To investigate discrepancies on inbound and outbound processes and documentation.
- Implement and manage Dynamic Pick Walk Optimisation to ensure a consistent high level of store friendly picking whilst ensuring the pick walk remains as productive as possible
- Support New depots by sharing best practice, SOP’s and training for all Inventory functions
- Support New System implementations by providing documentation and resource for testing and training
- Record and analyse stock holding capacity for Islip and UK combined, ensuring there is sufficient UK storage throughout peak and highlight any potential risk
- Work with key stakeholders in Primark and 3PL’s to standardise and streamline Inventory Functions in all Depots
- Work with Dublin Finance and Dublin Stock to ensure all stock related processes are relevant and robust, putting forward improvement recommendations
- Support Dublin Finance and Dublin Stock with any changes to process by liaising with the other Depots
- Manage Inbound Planning in multiple volume formats to drive stock holding profile
- Provide analysis on volume trending: Budget v actual and Planned v Actual
- Lead Process Improvement for Inbound Activity at Islip with a view to roll out of Best Practise solutions across the Network - Present Period Review Data to Line Manager
- Lead Process Improvement for Inventory Activity at Islip with a view to roll out of Best Practise solutions across the Network - Present Period Review Data to Line Manager
- Drive inbound accuracy through clear internal SLA’s for performance – To be rolled out to the UK Network once implemented and bedded as culture.
- Identify Root Cause Analysis where errors are identified – To be rolled out to the UK Network once implemented and bedded as culture.
- Provide the link between the B&M teams to improve knowledge sharing Co-ordinating high profile activity with B&M / Supply Chain / Suppliers through to the operation
- Periodic meetings / visits to the B&M team – To present Non Compliance data with recommendations for resolution
- Improve relations with UK Domestic suppliers – Performance Reviews for the UK network - Attend Regular Supplier Review Meetings for UK Suppliers to drive service improvement
- Identify and implement improved control measures for Internal Movements within the network (ICT’s Repro and RTM)
Essential knowledge, skills and experience:
- Minimum 3+ years in Logistics industry
- Strong proven track record of working within a logistics / supply chain function
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships at all management levels
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to highlight and challenge relevant issues
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to initiate relevant projects and analysis
