We have 2 exciting internal opportunities for you to join a dynamic team as an Inventory Operator . Your role will be to perform various tasks and functions associated with the receipt and replenishment of lenses and raw materials, receiving direction from your Team Leader or Senior Operator. You will work within a warehouse environment, keeping Team Leaders informed of any work-related issues that may influence the ability of the department to achieve the required objectives.

  • Comply with Health & Safety at Work Act and promote good EHS and GMP practice within the department to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and visitors to the area. Particularly, ensure safe use of specialist equipment such as Order Pickers, fork lift trucks, pallet movers, racking, and other electrical equipment.
  • Where requested, carry out daily checks against established EHS and GMP checklists covering equipment (e.g. Order Pickers, FLTs,) and the general working environment
  • Receive incoming lenses and Raw Materials from internal and external sources, verifying all items are correct.
  • Identifying, putting away products ensuring all goods are located and stored in the correct locations according to procedure and available for picking.
  • Through the effective use of the company’s WMS, JDA, Baan, Service Now, Agile and MS Office to ensure customer requirements, performance targets, and quality standards are met and when possible exceeded
  • Ensuring the departmental service levels are maintained and where possible exceeded in compliance with organisational requirements.
  • Provide support to your Team Leader or Senior Operator through feedback on Inventory issues on a regular basis.
  • Actively promote and be prepared to participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Pick and issue Materials for the user businesses to the agreed quality standards, verifying all items are correct, complete and present. Distribute materials to the user businesses in line with daily stock replenishment plans.
  • Once fully trained, operate any machinery, vehicles or equipment as required for your position and duties

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE SHOULD YOU HAVE?

We are looking for a results-driven and team-orientated individual who has good working knowledge of warehouse procedures and environment. Other knowledge, skills and abilities essential to excel in this role include:

  • Experience and knowledge of the warehouse environment.
  • Basic understanding of the equipment relevant to the specified area including in house applications, e.g. JDA.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office to produce documents and read/send emails.
  • Mechanical Handling Equipment Licenses; Order Pickers, VNA’s, forklift trucks, and pallet stacker (or competence to achieve this)
  • Enthusiastic and flexible; a team player who can work alone as well as within a team, with excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills; Recognises the existence of a problem and takes appropriate action to remedy the situation. Acknowledges mistakes and uses them as an opportunity for learning.
  • Able to learn new programs and processes when implemented; can clearly communicate changes to fellow team members. Able to plan and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines; pays attention to detail and can use own initiative to make good business decisions.
  • Works effectively within a team environment, builds strong relationships to achieve the desired results. Acknowledges the diverse ability of others and is able to interact with a cross section of colleagues.
  • Establishes and maintains positive and effective working relationships at all levels, conducts themselves in a professional and friendly manner.Good standard of education including English and Mathematics.
