EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Economics/Business/Finance
  • CFA or CPA designation candidate preferred
  • Minimum of 1 – 2 years of real estate experience, specifically multifamily experience preferred, including but not limited to underwriting, due diligence, and transactions expertise
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with real estate and macro-economic data sources (CMHC, Statistics Canada, etc.)

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Preferred proficiency in macro-data analytics
  • Power BI report and dashboard creation
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing systems and new technologies

NON-TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A self-starter with ability to work constructively within a team and perform effectively in periodic, higher-pressure situations
  • Strong technical and analytical skills displaying excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Highly reliable and always meets deadlines
  • Intellectual curiosity, and eagerness to learn
  • Well organized and able to manage projects simultaneously
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain utmost confidentiality

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct financial analysis required in evaluating the acquisitions, dispositions and development of multi-family properties
  • Assist senior deal team members in due diligence organization, management of data rooms and transaction questions
  • Review and prepare cash flow analysis with senior management to support the investment decision making process
  • Exhibit strong data analytic skills to identify market opportunities through the analysis of macroeconomic trends and market conditions
  • Assist in the preparation of Investment Committee memorandums, formal Senior Management transaction recommendations and quarterly Board reporting packages
  • Create an industry network and contacts with peers, brokers and bankers, including attending local conferences and industry events
  • Conduct portfolio management analysis to identify potential disposition candidates and capital recycling opportunities
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, both verbal and written regarding investment committee materials and an in-depth understanding of key value drivers in underwriting and financial modelling
