POSITION OVERVIEW:

Investment Analysts (IAs) within Cambridge Associates’ Global Investment Services (GIS) division provide investment research, analysis, and advice to our clients. IAs will work as part of the client investment teams on current client portfolios and research projects, and assume significant individual responsibility on these accounts. In addition to portfolio management and advisory work, the GIS IA based in the Singapore office will also participate in the firm’s business development efforts in the region.
While every IA is responsible for arranging his or her schedule and priorities in order to meet deadlines, there is a strong tradition of teamwork and cooperation among the IAs in the team to help manage the workload. The ideal candidate should possess a high degree of competency in both quantitative and qualitative skillsets as he/she is expected to perform in-depth analysis via our internal analytics and modeling tools, concisely describe and relay market conditions, manager performance and recommendations to clients.

SKILLS:

  • A demonstrated interest in investments and the capital markets
  • Familiarity with computer databases and spreadsheets, especially Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Shows good initiative and a curiosity to learn
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, keen eye for detail, ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (any major) with a record of high academic achievement
  • Fresh graduates and individuals with 0-2 years of work experience are welcomed to apply
  • Must be eligible to work in Singapore without sponsorship or restriction

Responsibilities:

Investment Management

  • Participate in the development and/or periodic review of investment strategy and portfolio construction for client portfolios
  • Prepare regular portfolio review and recommendation materials for our clients’ investment committees and/or other staff
  • Participate in the critical evaluation and selection of investment managers for virtually all asset classes, including alternative investments such as venture capital, private equity, and hedge funds
  • Participate in investment manager meetings and assist in the manager research process
  • Prepare and draft investment memos related to investment manager subscriptions or redemptions
  • Perform quantitative analysis related to asset allocation, risk monitoring, and performance attribution
  • Liaise with the Client Reporting group in the preparation of clients’ performance reports
  • Answer clients’ questions and requests on an ad-hoc basis

Business Development

  • Work closely with the Investment Directors in the Singapore office to support business development efforts in the region. This includes liaising with the Global Business Development (GBD) team to coordinate resources and support, responding to RFPs from prospects, and preparing presentation materials for a pitch
