Description:

We are seeking a dynamic Investment Analyst Intern for our Venture Fund team at AltaML. As AltaML continues to scale, it will be crucial that we have the right people collecting and presenting data to our teams so we can ensure our decisions are driven by data.
Office as a Resource & Participating Universities: This opportunity is currently open to anyone that is currently enrolled at the U of Alberta, U of Calgary (Masters Only), Mount Royal U, U Waterloo, U of Toronto, and Queens U. As this is a Mitacs funded opportunity, please reach out if you have questions regarding your eligibility. While we have offices in Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, and Waterloo we use our offices as a resource.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting research on various verticals for AI/ML adoption to identify investment opportunities.
  • Maintaining CRM hygiene to ensure efficient management of relationships and data.
  • Creating investment decks to support market research, fundraising, and investment analysis.
  • Assisting portfolio companies with diverse tasks, contributing to their success.
  • Participating in fundraising activities, facilitating the gathering of financial support.
  • Aiding the investment team with live deal execution, including due diligence and financial modeling.
  • Representing the fund at industry events to network and stay abreast of market trends.
  • Keeping updated on the early-stage AI/ML investment landscape to identify emerging trends.
  • Proactively engaging with founders aligning with our investment thesis, fostering potential investment opportunities.
  • Assisting the Senior Investment Analyst and the studio team with various research and fund-related tasks.
