JOB DESCRIPTION

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly motivated to work in a dynamic team and to contribute to our Germany Investment Banking business.
J.P. Morgan’s Germany Investment Banking Coverage Group provides a full range of investment banking services to numerous clients based in Germany and Austria. Its clients include many of the world’s leading firms in their respective industries. The Group’s primary focus is on delivering creative solutions to clients for mergers and acquisitions and equity and debt capital raising.
As an Investment Banking Germany Coverage Associate, you will be a key player in our business strategy and execution. You will participate in the “full cycle” of transactional execution including idea generation, preparing marketing pitches, reviewing and formulating financial analysis, preparing and presenting internal committee memoranda and client presentations. You will play a pivotal role in implementing the deal execution including working with other analysts and associates, as well as assisting more senior bankers and client.
You will have strong functional skills in the major areas of investment banking and will demonstrate the ability to become a banker who can generate and execute their own transactions. Most importantly, you will be highly enthusiastic about J.P. Morgan’s mission, be an independent thinker with an entrepreneurial work ethic and be driven and committed to the bank’s success.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES AND SKILLS

  • Multiple years of Investment Banking or Corporate Finance experience
  • Excellent analytical skills, with high level of attention to detail
  • Proficient financial modelling / valuation skills
  • Comfort in and commitment to a strong teamwork environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Being adaptable, flexible and resilient
  • Ability to multitask on numerous assignments
  • Proficiency in MS office applications, profound knowledge of customary investment banking databases (FactSet, Bloomberg, etc.)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES AND SKILLS

  • Fluency in German and English

Responsibilities:

  • Support on execution, marketing and coverage work across industries
  • Conduct research and analysis of market data and companies
  • Supporting preparation of client presentations
  • Perform valuation analyses (e.g. based on multiples, DCF, LBO, etc.)
  • Building detailed and complex financial models
  • Execute transactions from pitch to close (e.g. public and private mergers, acquisitions and divestitures across all industry sectors, equity capital markets advisory on various types of capital raising transactions such as listings and rights issues across Germany, etc.)
